How bad? Well, for one it grows you up to be nervous. Always not enough, always in need. Everything has to be right and it can only be if you have new jeans, more appliances, more containers for your accumulated piles of sooner or later trash. There is no end. What I want to do; give my things that are expendable to a free store, or sell them off at a swap meet. Ebay, Etsy. Or if it doesn’t freak your friends and family out too bad, give them your favorite things, pieces you can live without but would like to keep in the circle of you. Think of it like traveling. You have what you need, and you keep it light. This is what I’ve learned to be true detachment from the material world. Tho you’d have to watch what you bought and refrain from evil packaging trash but its doable. But who would do it with your house you can pile stacks up in, and why would you want to live with nothing? Because, every person that doesn’t care is greatly contributing to a crime against our home and the living things in it. Trash piles leak toxic chemicals into the ground until the neighborhood is sick. Everything is packaged to excess, and the cheap excuses we make for fast food containers take so long to break down they’ll outlive us. The blatant disregard is sickening and we should take a look at what we’ve grown into, that we would scoff at a carefree and uncluttered lifestyle let alone more sanitary and beautiful. Take a minute to go through your stuff. Make a pile for selling and a pile for giving away. Don’t go shopping ever without doing this. Food in your cupboard, closets, shoes, go through it all. If you don’t wear it or its not very practical for your life, send it off to someone who’ll like it. Let’s start a trend where all the best stuff is free because it circulates. We should never have to buy excessively again. Lets not be consumers, let’s be smart and use what we have and only take on what we need. Give me some feedback on this. I say; Travel Light.
